How it all began .....
Rosa’s Pizza in Bigfork was established by Walt and Floella Dupea in March 1986.
Walt added a second-story apartment and additional ground-level storage to the
store that same year. In 1989, Walt’s son Monte joined Walt in running the store,
and by January 1990, Monte and his wife Echo became the new owners. Two remodels
in the 1990s expanded Rosa’s dining capacity. A final remodel in 2007-08 converted
the upstairs apartment into restaurant seating, doubled the kitchen space, and gave
Rosa’s décor a decided Western theme. In 2026, Monte retired and handed ownership of
Rosa's Pizza over to his son and daughter in law, Daniel and Marea.
Come on in for Bigfork’s best loved pizzas, cheese breads, sandwiches or salads and a friendly,
country atmosphere. For 40 years Monte and now Daniel and the crew (which always includes several local
high school students) have carried forward the legacy of Walt Dupea, Monte’s dad, by offering
some of the most consistently delicious food in our community. Many would even go so far as to
say that Rosa’s has the best pizza in Bigfork. So, come on by, get to know us better and experience
a Bigfork tradition.
